This is an illustration of the engineering design process – a series of steps that engineers follow in order to define and solve problems. It’s cyclical in nature, as we often ask questions about our solutions to problems which lead to more problems to solve! Such as,

  • What’s the goal?
  • What is the problem we’re really solving?
  • Could we improve…?
  • Would it work better if....?

Click on each part of the illustration to learn a little more about each stage.
Ask yourself how you could enhance the design process in your classroom!
